Past PAR President Greg Herb Honored at REBI Ceremony

PAR Past President Greg Herb was honored virtually this week at the Real Estate Business Institute Inaugural and Awards Reception.

Herb, who served as PAR president in 2009, received the Hall of Leaders Award. The Hall of Leaders awards members who “have provided outstanding contributions and service in the real estate industry and profession.” It is awarded annually and voted upon by leaders at REBI. Based in Gilbertsville, Herb has been a Realtor® for 41 years and is the broker and owner of Herb Real Estate, Inc.

“It truly is an honor to receive this recognition, especially from your peers,” said Herb. “It is also very humbling. To me, the past award recipients have been considered iconic leaders within our industry and to be considered among them is truly an honor. As I reflect back, I’m most appreciative of the support and opportunities afforded to me by REBI which enabled me to grow professionally. I enjoy giving back to our industry versus receiving, so being the recipient of the Hall of Leaders Award is a bit uncomfortable for me, however it will be treasured.”

Herb is dedicated to education in the real estate industry, having received his ABR, CRS, e-PRO, GREEN and GRI designations, in addition to his CRB. An active member of REBI, Herb served as president of REBI in 2005.

“The educational and real hands-on experiences I received through the course work to obtain my CRB designation have been invaluable,” said Herb. “In many ways, they have been the foundation of my career, especially in management and ownership. The other priceless residuals are the relationships and the mentorships formed within the organization and its members. The reach is beyond the typical networking and extends to anything from idea sharing to problem solving with fellow REBI members.”

Outside of real estate, Herb is quite busy in his community. He is an executive board member of the Hawk Mountain Council of Boy Scouts, a founding member of the Foundation for Boyertown Education, a 501(c) organization that offers programs for students in a 100-square-mile area of Pennsylvania, where he has been president for the past seven years.
