“Discriminatory bias in the real estate field against protected classes of people in a fair housing context is not new, but there is currently an intense and ongoing regulatory and industry focus on identifying and remediating sources of appraisal bias,” according to Ray Michalowski, senior prosecutor in charge at the Pennsylvania Department of State.
