Six Pennsylvania Realtors® Named to the Swanepoel Power 200 List
Six Pennsylvania Realtors® were recently honored by being named to the Swanepoel Power 200 List, which ranks the strongest leaders in the industry.
Howard “Hoddy” Hanna III and Helen Hanna Casey of Howard Hanna Real Estate were named 10th, followed by Larry Flick of BHHS Fox & Roach Realtors® at 67th, then Joan Docktor of BHHS Fox & Roach Realtors® at 79th, followed by Tom Hosack of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Realty in 141st and Rod Messick of BHHS Homesale Realty in 163rd.
“I believe we had a vision for the future, and we had a plan on how to reach our goals,” said Helen Casey, who serves as CEO of the organization. “Through the years, the best and the brightest have joined us, embraced that vision and helped us achieve growth and success. We have an incredible team of leaders who are dedicated to helping their teams achieve at their maximum potential. Our sales associates in real estate, mortgage and insurance excel, and as a result, achieve more sales than our competitors. Without this family, we wouldn’t be able to call ourselves successful.”
“Don’t wait for someone to ask you to step up,” added Casey. “Let those around you know your goals and your plan, and then ask them to help you. No matter how successful you are, if you want to achieve more, let others help to show you the way.”
Flick, the CEO of BHHS Fox & Roach Realtors®, said Realtors® are in the business of making dreams come true. “To have the opportunity to make such a positive impact on the people you interact with each day is really a privilege and a responsibility,” he said. “There are two parts to this. First, you must know how to use technology to elevate your client’s experience. Second, you must build a relationship that gives your clients the confidence to consider you their trusted advisor and will help them make good real estate decisions. If you understand and act upon this, success will follow.”
He added that the company’s success is thanks to their sales associates. “We give them the most up-to-date resources and tools to serve their clients and grow their business so that they are successful and can have a good quality of life,” he said. “When they succeed, we succeed, and the more we can do to help them succeed, the more successful we are.”
For Docktor, the president of BHHS Fox & Roach Realtors®, she credits her success to always wanting to learn and loving the business. “I never pass up a chance to grow and explore new ideas, both personally and when it comes to our industry. I started as a sales professional, so I have always been in tune with their needs. I actively listen and am committed to their personal growth. I am a proponent of servant leadership. Leaders have the responsibility and opportunity to help others. I feel lifted up by lifting others,” she said.
“If you are lucky enough to have found your passion as a Realtor®, work hard, do your research, never stop learning and stay alert for opportunities. You want to make yourself indispensable,” added Docktor.
As the CEO of BHHS Homesale Realty, Messick said his focus is on why he does what he does. “For me personally, an early investment in real estate became a huge factor in wealth building. In turn, that wealth building at an early age gave me career freedom. And it’s that career freedom that led me to the housing industry. I want to help others achieve that level of freedom with homeownership and through the amazing power of a career in our industry. Working out from the why I move into the how. For me, the how is showing up every day ready to meet people where they are in order to try to help get to where they want to go. Everything I focus on is built around that how. By working from the why to how it makes the what to work on for our shared success very clear,” he said.
“While I have the honor of being the one recognized, it’s clearly because of a lot of great work done by Team Homesale that I’m on the list,” added Messick. “So if you aspire for this sort of recognition, I’d say be a part of a great organization, bring value every day to those who depend on you, and always keep a clear focus on your why. If you do those things you may or may not receive this type of recognition but what you will receive is the gratitude of your peers, your customers and your community.”
