What key words in listings tend to lead to higher selling prices

Pane windows.

According to CoreLogic, listings with specific words in them tend to sell for more. And pane windows is the top feature this year.

Other words that struck a chord with buyers include new construction, remodeled kitchen, fully-fenced, outdoor living and single-level.

Additionally, “it is worthy noting that ‘paint’ references appear multiple times in these top word pairs, including ‘exterior paint,’ ‘new paint’ and ‘interior paint.’ Those selling homes should consider painting throughout, since it is a relatively small investment that can lead to a higher sale price,” said CoreLogic’s Bin He.

In kitchens, granite, range and oven all reigned popular, as did stainless appliances throughout the home. An updated kitchen is also sought after by buyers.

A quiet street is also desirable, as well as fruit trees, a front yard and a large backyard. Being in walking distance was also a popular listing phrase that typically had higher selling price. Space for an RV to park is also a need for some homebuyers, and they may be willing to pay more for it.

Gas is all the rage as well; many consumers are seeking a gas fireplace and a gas range. Meanwhile, natural light, light and bright and hardwood floors are some interior factors that consumers look for.

Finally, make sure that home is “perfect for entertaining,” because with some of these amenities, it should be the ideal home for hosting guests as well.
