Expert advises Realtors® to utilize Instagram
Being a mobile real estate agent is not anything new. On this publication, we have written about it multiple times from multiple angles. But like every process, it is a good idea to audit what you are doing and how you are doing it.
G. William James, president and lead consultant at Handheld Computer Solutions, has witnessed the evolution of mobile technologies and urges Realtors® to take a moment and pause.
“Customers have mobile devices. Oftentimes, these devices lead to impatient homebuyers. They want documents and flyers immediately upon request. As real estate agents and thanks to technology, we can do that,” James said.
Mobile technology gives agents the best solution for increasing efficiency in productivity and capabilities. On the flipside, it is also an increasingly easy and powerful marketing tool.
James highlights the power of Instagram, a photo and video-sharing social network powered by imagery captured on your mobile phone. While we know the right photos can really sell a home, James cautions Realtors® from using the platform as another way to blast your listings.
“Being a Realtor® in Anytown, U.S.A., you can instantly share photos and video from your point-of-view from your smartphone. You should not confuse this with another outlet to post the full details of a listing. Instead, sell the lifestyle, not the home,” James recommended.
Companies large and small are investing time and resources into Instagram. By showing how a homebuyer can access great amenities around your listings, you are showcasing the lifestyle they can live by purchasing their home from you.
Instagram is also a great way to globalize your brand and attract potential clients and investors. James recommends developing a strategy.
James added, “If you are highlighting the benefits of moving or investing in Anytown, U.S.A., it is an opportunity to make a connection and develop a relationship with an individual.”
James will be presenting two programs at the Triple Play Realtors® Convention in Atlantic City, December 8-11. His sessions include The Cloud Computing Solution and The Google Universe: The Latest Cloud Based Tools.
