Earn Your Divorce Specialist Certification at Triple Play
“Don’t wait until the middle of a transaction to realize there are things you need to know to serve your customers better,” says Addie Owens, real estate instructor, broker and Florida Realtor®.
Owens is bringing her decades of real estate experience to this year’s Triple Play Realtor® Convention and Trade Expo by hosting a session titled “RRC: Divorce Specialist Certification.” The certification is designed to help agents learn the family law basics so they can be more effective when speaking with clients experiencing divorce. The course will focus on helping agents navigate the emotionally charged process while maintaining objectivity.
“This class is the human side of divorce,” Owens shares. “You are not and never will be a legal expert as a real estate practitioner. You do need to understand the basic legal principles to know when you are treading into legal waters that will cut your career as an agent short.”
“Most agents believe a transaction with divorcing customers is the same as any other,” she says. “There are emotional complexities that drive behaviors differently, and those are the issues you will learn to navigate in this class.”
How does obtaining the certification enhance a Realtor®’s credibility and effectiveness in the residential real estate market?
“Achieving a CRS Divorce Certification lets your potential customers, or legal professionals, know you understand the complexities involved in navigating these types of transactions,” Owens answers. “It’s not just a piece of paper or a digital certificate. It’s an investment into your future customers’ unique needs.”
“I bring lively, honest conversation with a career full of experience to the table,” Owens concludes. “Time will fly and you will not be bored in this class.”
“RRC: Divorce Specialist Certification” will be held at Triple Play on Monday, Dec. 9, from noon to 4:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required by Nov. 29, as well as a $125 fee. Additional requirements can be found on the RRC website. This course has been approved for four Pennsylvania continuing education credits.
