Designation Awareness Month: Sign Up for a Course Today

Did you know November is Designation Awareness Month for Realtors®?

Use this month to advance your career and further your education while gaining a new designation. Whether it’s your first or ninth, earning each designation offers a unique skillset that will help you be a better Realtor® for all of your clients.

District 1 Vice President Heather Petrone-Shook has her Accredited Buyer’s Representative designation, At Home with Diversity certification and Seniors Real Estate Specialist® designation. “The SRES designation especially has helped me,” said Petrone-Shook, who is a Realtor® in the Philadelphia area. “We have an aging population, especially baby boomers. The education I learned in the course about what to assist them with, how to make suggestions and making sure it will be the right move for them right now was invaluable.”

Petrone-Shook pointed out that a house is one of people’s largest assets, if not the largest. “Baby boomers are banking on this for their future and I have the knowledge and information to help them stretch that dollar. The course was very helpful.”

“At Home with Diversity was one of my favorite courses,” she added. “It helped me learn and understand cultural differences. Always ask. If you don’t know, just ask. People are more than happy to share their culture with you.” Next up, Petrone-Shook said she hopes to add GRI after her name by completing the Graduate, Realtor® Institute course.

There are opportunities among the variety of designations and certifications offered by NAR and affiliated institutions to help you be a better Realtor® for your clients. During the month of November, the Center for Realtor® Development is offering a 20% off discount on all online NAR designations and certifications courses.
