Bureau’s new licensing system now live
Real estate licensees should have received an email notification from the Department of State yesterday that it’s time to renew their real estate licenses. Licensees who don’t have an active email address attached to their license record will begin receiving printed postcards in the upcoming weeks.
The Pennsylvania Licensing System (PALS) the licensing portal for all 29 licensing boards and commissions overseen by the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs, is now live for license renewals, and Realtors® will be able to renew their real estate license through the site prior to the May 31 deadline. Paper renewals will no longer be accepted. This should speed up the application and renewal process for all parties.
Licensees who used the previous online system (MyLicense), should be able to log into PALS using their existing user ID and password. Licensees who don’t have an account can register themselves for one from that same page. Due to the large volume of licensees renewing their licenses, users may experience system delays.
The broker corporation, LLC or partnership license must be renewed at the same time as the broker of record license is renewed. Associate brokers and agent licenses will not be able to renew until their broker and broker of record renews.
Additionally, a branch office will not be able to renew until the main office renews.
Commission staff will not provide tech support if licensees have login issues. The “contact us” button at the top of the page will take licensees to an extensive help center that explains the overall system and gives information on specific topics. Each of those help topics then has a “looking for something else” option that allows them submit a message directly to a help desk.
Unfortunately, PAR is not available to provide technical support while Realtors® are working in the new PALS system, as it is not a PAR system.
