AANHPI Heritage Month: Alexis Cruel Promotes Generational Wealth
This Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, PAR commemorates the real estate journeys of AANHPI Realtors®.
Alexis Cruel, a member of the Greater Lehigh Valley Realtors®, has been a Realtor® for three years and is a current member of GLVR’s Diversity Committee.
“I have always been fascinated by real estate investing and thought what better way to get into it than by being a Realtor® and being a resource to the community?” Cruel recalls. “It has given me the opportunity to build generational wealth and teach others how to as well.”
What’s Cruel’s favorite part of working with buyers and sellers?
“I love learning why they are buying and/or selling and assisting them on the journey,” she says. “I get to be a part of one of their most expensive financial decisions in life.”
She adds, “I have had the honor of helping many get their first investment property and watching them build generational wealth.”
“Encouraging AAPI individuals to join real estate offers personal growth, financial independence and community impact, including building generational wealth,” says Alexis Cruel, Greater Lehigh Valley Realtor®.
Still, real estate doesn’t come without its challenges, and Cruel has faced several related to competition and the housing market. She cites low inventory and losing out despite her clients’ strong offers as one of the hardest challenges she’s faced as a Realtor®.
As a member of the AANHPI community, Cruel believes representation is essential, saying, “Representation in the real estate industry for the AAPI community is vital as it reflects diversity, provides role models and ensures the consideration of unique perspectives and needs.”
“Encouraging AAPI individuals to join real estate offers personal growth, financial independence and community impact, including building generational wealth,” she continues. “Their unique perspectives and skills can better serve diverse clients, while increased representation breaks barriers and fosters inclusivity for future generations to thrive.”
To other Realtors®, Cruel advises, “Truly listen to what the client’s wants and needs are and communicate with integrity. By doing that, you will provide solutions and give a positive experience which will give long-term success and referrals. Real estate hasn’t always been pretty, but have your mindset right and everything else will follow.”
