Rachael Shroyer Named NAR 30 Under 30 Finalist
Rachael Shroyer, a member of the Cambria-Somerset Association of Realtors®, was named as a finalist for NAR’s Realtor® Magazine’s 30 Under 30 list. Voting for the Web Choice Award begins this afternoon.
Fifty young professionals were chosen and are running for Realtor® Magazine’s 30 Under 30 class of 2024. NAR believes these individuals embody innovation, determination and selflessness, and that they’ve shown poise in a difficult market while helping pave the way for the next generation of homeowners.
“I enjoy meeting different types of people and working through challenges every day,” Shroyer says. “No two days are the same in real estate! It’s very rewarding to assist sellers and buyers through what are often emotional, life-changing moves. I’m honored to earn clients’ trust and be there for them throughout the transaction and beyond. It’s always rewarding to get them to the closing table and oftentimes earn their repeat business and referrals.”
Shroyer currently works for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, The Preferred Realty. She has had her salesperson license for five years and recently received her associate broker’s license, which is an accomplishment that she’s especially proud of.
“I’ve always thought it was important to continue to learn and improve as a Realtor®,” she says. “I learned a lot through the eight classes I took over two years, and I’ve already been able to apply that knowledge to transactions I’ve completed. It was a goal of mine to obtain my broker’s license before my daughter was born, and at nine months pregnant, I took the exams and passed on the first try. A week later, I gave birth to my beautiful daughter on St. Patrick’s Day. I like to think she was my lucky charm while taking the exams!”
Alongside becoming officially licensed as an associate broker, Shroyer is also proud of her work in helping her family purchase a farm during the start of COVID. She and her husband bought the farm along with several other family members after falling in love with its rolling hills, amazing views and peaceful environment.
“The property had been on the market for a while because other buyers couldn’t see the potential, but we knew it was home right away,” she shares. “Fixing up the 132-acre farm with its nine ponds has come with bumps, bruises and a lot of learning along the way, but it’s been rewarding to see it come back to life.”
“I believe I have embodied the innovation of an NAR 30 Under 30 finalist by staying in the loop with new trends in the market, financing and technology that will help my clients see the best results in their purchase or sale,” Shroyer continues. “I’m constantly reading real estate blogs and listening to podcasts and webinars to enhance my skills as an agent and better serve my clients.”
“I work hard every day to navigate through difficult situations to get my buyers and sellers to the closing table. I’m not afraid to take on difficult transactions and go the extra mile (literally) for my clients.” – Rachael Shroyer, Cambria-Somerset Association of Realtors®.
Shroyer’s determination can be seen in her sales volume. Last year, she was able to help 87 buyers and sellers close on properties, at a sales volume of $15 million. She says, “I work hard every day to navigate through difficult situations to get my buyers and sellers to the closing table. I’m not afraid to take on difficult transactions and go the extra mile (literally) for my clients. I’ve driven hours showing properties to clients all over western, southern and central Pennsylvania.”
“Finally, I embody the selflessness of an NAR 30 Under 30 finalist by always putting my clients’ interests first and advocating throughout the transaction for their best interests. I like to think of myself as less of a ‘salesperson’ and more of a consultant for my clients, and they tend to appreciate my transparency, honesty and strong work ethic. It’s cliché, but the saying, ‘Do what you love and you’ll never work another day in your life’ is so true. I love real estate and hope to be able to work in this industry for a long time.”
Voting for the Web Choice Award begins today, April 3, at 1 p.m. The finalist with the most votes secures a spot on the 30 Under 30 list and earns special recognition in an online article. The other 29 honorees will be selected by judges from the pool of finalists. Vote for Rachael Shroyer starting today at 1 p.m.
