Using artificial intelligence in your business can help you realize a 75% savings in your time, according to real estate educator and Realtor® Marki Lemons-Ryhal. Lemons-Ryhal, a Realtor® and educational speaker, explained the benefits of using several AI products available.
“AI won’t replace you. A person using AI will replace you,” she said.
ChatGPT is the newest tool she’s incorporated into her business. She explained that GPT stands for generative pre-trained transformer. But she refers to ChatGPT as a “productive electrifying trained assistant that you can use for free.”
According to Nerdy Nav, the ChatGPT userbase grew by 9,900% just 60 days after its launch. It had 100 million active users in January 2023 and 173 million in April. The website had 1.8 billion monthly visits in April (up from 266 million in December 2022).
“Now is the time to start using AI,” she said. “AI is being infused into every tool we use. Zillow, CoreLogic, and sites like Canva are already using AI to enhance their products.”
Lemons-Ryhal is using ChatGPT to help boost her real estate website, to write marketing materials and create blog posts.
“Some real estate professionals are just using ChatGPT to write listing descriptions, but it can generate so much more,” Lemons-Ryhal said. She’s used it to translate her website into Spanish.
“Please have someone proof the content on your website once it’s translated to ensure it’s correct and run the copy through Grammarly to ensure that the material is not plagiarized,” she added. “It’s your reputation that’s at stake. You should also adhere to the licensing law in your state, and follow NAR’s Code of Ethics and fair housing laws when using ChatGPT to general copy.”
To start using ChatGPT, it will ask for prompt or written instructions for the type of copy you’re looking for. “The better the prompt, the better the response,” she said. “If you change the tone, it changes the language used.”
Lemons-Ryhal suggests jumping on the website to give it a try, then expanding the types of written material you have it generate.
