Building Your Business During Quarantine Webinar

The Boom Real Estate Team is producing a free Coronavirus Playbook: Building Your Business During Quarantine webinar series, designed to help real estate agents get through this time. The next one is today at 1 p.m. and provides downloadable resources.

The three-person team, Todd Ferris, Megan Ferris and Terry Waggoner, own and operate an independent agency, the Ferris Property Group in Indianapolis with 30 agents. They’ve been producing podcasts for the past three years.

Waggoner said some of the key points they’ve stressed during the COVID-19 pandemic to help Realtors® build their business are:

  • Prioritize self-care. Start each day off right, whether it’s praying, exercising, hugging your puppy – whatever helps you start the day feeling good. It can be easy to coast through the day and feel like you’ve wasted time. Starting your day off on a positive note helps you begin your day productively.
  • Stick to a schedule. Don’t just drift through your day. People are bored and frustrated, but you’ll accomplish more if you create a to-do list. Spend some extra time with your family, contact your clients and stick to a schedule. The days go much faster if you stick to a schedule and you’ll feel more productive at the end of the day.
  • Work on key projects. This time is tailor made to work on those two to three projects you’ve always wanted to do, whether it’s setting up a contract-to-close system, starting a customer relationship management system or a new website. We know doing these projects would make a difference, so spend the next several weeks accomplishing them. They will have a massive impact on your business right now and for years to come.
  • Connect with people. Make phone calls to your family and stay connected with people you love. Contact all your past clients; there’s never been a better time to check in. You don’t need an agenda. It’s been said that people would rather have a friend than a Realtor®, now’s the time to be a friend to your database.

“This is an unprecedented time and I don’t want to minimize the seriousness. However, we can consider this a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Now’s the time to build new systems and routines that will way outlast this quarantine and will have an impact on your business for years and years to come,” Waggoner added.
