Pennsylvanians Named RISMedia 2020 Real Estate Newsmakers
Eight Pennsylvania residents involved in the real estate industry have been named to the RISMedia 2020 Real Estate Newsmakers list.
The list recognizes key influencers in the real estate industry, as well as their impact on their local communities and consumers. The list is broken down to influencers, trailblazers, futurists, achievers, crusaders, inspirations, luminaries and trendsetters.
Larry Flick V, the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors® and The Trident Group in Devon, was named a futurist. “I’m very proud to be recognized by RISMedia as a futurist for leading the rollout of our new, state-of-the-art marketing technology platform, the Agent Center for Excellence. Our top priority at BHHS Fox & Roach is helping our sales professionals build stronger relationships with clients. Through the most advanced technology available, ACE makes running their day-to-day business easier and more efficient,” said Flick. “I’ve worked hard every single day in my career to slowly move up in the real estate and financial services industry, from starting out as a loan officer to becoming president of Trident Mortgage Company and now CEO of BHHS Fox & Roach. My philosophy for myself and the company is about being better tomorrow than we are today.”
Scott Geller, an associate broker for RE/MAX Centre Realtors® in Jamison was named an influencer by RISMedia for 2020. “I am extremely humbled,” said Geller. “It’s all about connections and meeting people around the country. Being in leadership at the Bucks County Association of Realtors® and traveling around the country to NAR events and leadership training has allowed me to make many connections.”
“My top advice is to get involved,” added Geller. “When I first started as an appraiser, I went to a PAR convention and then I joined a committee and it all grew from there. Staying involved all these years really helped me. Look at this as a business. I spent the first 10 years trying to become the best in the business by getting designations and taking education classes. I saw people with less education make more money, but I wanted to run a business.”
Named a crusader by the site, Joan Docktor is the president of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors® in Devon. “I am honored to be included among such dedicated leaders in our industry,” said Docktor. “I have always been a proponent of servant leadership. Servant leaders demonstrate empathy, listening, stewardship and commitment to the personal growth of others. You can be smart, hardworking and knowledgeable, but if you don’t convey warmth to those around you, you will struggle as a leader. I strive to be a servant leader. I love what I do and truly care about the wants and needs of all our sales associates and sales office leaders.”
“My advice to anyone early in their career: If you are lucky enough to find your passion, work hard and stay alert for opportunities. Even a small opportunity could help you prove your worth and put you on the path to achieving another goal,” added Docktor.
“I am honored to be selected among such an important group of industry professionals for the RISMedia’s Achievers Award. My motto is that every employee, every partner and every client should feel like a VIP all the time. Evolving the company culture to reflect this simple idea has proven to be a successful motivator as Title Alliance expands nationwide,” said Lindsay Smith, CSO at Title Alliance, who was named to the achievers category. “I attribute my success to my passionate commitment to making a difference and the purposeful choice to live in the positive. A friend and mentor told me you can only control your attitude and your effort. I live each day with that in my mind and fueling all that I do.”
Co-Founders of Livy Brynn LLC in Norristown, Judy Weber and Jan Copeland were named trendsetters for 2020. “I feel very honored and humbled to have been named a newsmaker,” said Copeland. “Having been a top agent with a top team prior to pivoting in my career to become a full-time coach working exclusively with women agents and brokers, I saw the need for real estate coaching geared toward the way women learn.”
“I love what I do everyday, helping women agents and brokers become unstoppable and reach their goals of making money and loving life again,” added Copeland.
Being named a newsmaker and especially to be nominated to the RISMedia Hall of Fame is a great honor. I am very proud to be considered as part of this group, said Lawrence ‘Larry’ Flick IV, the chairman of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors® and the Trident Group in Devon, who was named to the Hall of Fame. “Our company is successful because our people are successful. I have worked to create a culture where we provide our sales associates with everything they need to grow their business and improve the quality of their lives.
Scott Furman, broker/owner of RE/MAX Classic in St. Davids was named to the inspirations category.
