Realtors® honored at PAR’s Fall Business Meetings

Three Pennsylvania Realtors® received awards during a special ceremony last night in Harrisburg during the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors® Fall Business Meetings.

Shirley Boyd McNamara of Pittsburgh received the Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognizes an individual who has significantly contributed to the Realtor® organization. Melanie McLane of Jersey Shore was named the Realtor® of the Year, which acknowledges meritorious contributions to the advancement of the profession and to the real estate community. And Adrienne “Abe” Wagner of Laurel Highlands was presented the Realtor® Active in Politics Award, which distinguishes exemplary legislative volunteerism on behalf of the association.

A Realtor® for 45 years, McNamara has served as district vice president for PAR, president of the Pennsylvania chapter of the Certified Residential Specialists and on the board of directors. She received the Lifetime Achievement Award from her local association, Realtors® Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh, in 2016. She also served as president of RAMP in 2012.

“I just love PAR, the real estate industry and all of the boards I have served,” said McNamara. “This is quite an honor.”

McLane has been a Realtor® for more than 40 years, and is extremely active in the industry. She’s a member of the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council Hall of Fame and has been awarded the Realtor® of the Year award, the Spirit Award and the Outstanding Achievement Award by her local association, the West Branch Valley Association of Realtors®, where she has served as president. McLane is also a real estate educator, teaching classes across the country.  She has served on nearly every committee at PAR, and several committees with the National Association of Realtors®.

“I never set out to sell the most real estate. I set out to understand and learn more about real estate,” said McLane. “I’m proud to be a Realtor®.”

Wagner is a member of the Realtors® Association of Westmoreland, Indiana and Mon Valley and the chair of their Government Affairs Committee. She works tirelessly to keep local Realtors® appraised of federal, state and local legislative issues that could impact their business. She’s been a passionate advocate on behalf of the real estate industry by participating in state and national hill visits, by serving on the state Legislative Committee and the Legislative Forum and attending the annual Public Policy Seminar. She is an active supporter of fundraising efforts for Realtor®-supported candidates. Sen. Pat Stefano (R-Fayette) was on hand to help present the award.

“Realtors® are the heart of the community,” said Wagner. “By being involved, we make a difference for homeowners and private property rights.”
