RISMedia recognizes Helen Hanna Casey as Real Estate Newsmaker
Helen Hanna Casey, chief executive officer of Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, was recently honored by RISMedia during the 2018 Real Estate Newsmaker Awards Reception at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. RISMedia’s first Real Estate Newsmaker Awards are designed to recognize those individuals making headlines as a result of their newsworthy contributions to the real estate industry.
Casey, her sister Annie Hanna Cestra and brother Hoddy Hanna lead the third largest real estate company in the country, overseeing over 250 offices and 9,000 sales associates and employees in eight states.
“This award recognizes what we do every day in our market, and not only what we achieve, but what we believe,” said Casey. “I would have to say many have made us the newsmakers; we didn’t do it on our own. To all the winners and the RISMedia staff of incredible people, thank you for making me into what I am today.”
Casey serves as chair of the National Association of Realtors® Corporate Ally Program Advisory Board and served as chair of NAR’s 2017 Corporate Investor Council. She received the Distinguished Service Award from the Realtors® Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh and was named by Inman News as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Real Estate. Casey and her sister were named among the Top 200 Women in Business by Working Woman’s Magazine. Casey was ranked as the “Most Powerful Woman in Real Estate” by Swanepoel Power 200, and received numerous other awards and honors.
“RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmaker Awards honor the industry’s real newsmakers, the people who are positively affecting our industry and the millions of consumers we serve. Our industry promotes and provides consumers with a pathway to responsible homeownership. Over the past three-plus decades, RISMedia has covered, chronicled and celebrated the professionals making news in real estate, and we are honored to be formalizing these honors starting with the first annual RISMedia Real Estate Newsmaker Awards,” according to RISMedia President and CEO John Featherston.
In addition to Casey, RISMedia’s other 2018 Real Estate Newsmakers include: National Association of Realtors® Chief Executive Officer Bob Goldberg, HomeServices of America Chairman and CEO Ron Peltier, HSF Affiliates Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion Teresa Palacios Smith, RE/MAX Boone Realty CEO and National Association of Realtors® 2018 President Elizabeth Mendenhall, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Rand Realty General Manager and Chief Creative Officer Joseph Rand and HomeSmart International Founder and Chief Executive Officer Matt Widdows.
