How does your legislator stack up?
Keeping track of how legislators vote is a full time job. I know because that’s my job. I find it fascinating to see regional and political party trends relating to all sorts of issues. But how does your legislator stack up on Realtor® Party issues? The Pennsylvania Association of Realtors® (PAR) has recently developed a tool so members can easily see legislators’ stance on Realtor® priority issues.
The Legislative Scorecard. This handy tool is easily accessible on PARealtor.org and provides members with an overview of issues that are a priority to the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors®. Most importantly, it shows how each member of the legislature voted. The issues highlighted on the Scorecard are Realtor® priorities from the 2013-2014 Legislative Session such as reinstating seller financing, protecting homeowners from unfair mechanics’ liens, property tax reform and carbon monoxide detectors. PAR supports issues that promote private property rights and eliminate the hurdles to homeownership.
The Pennsylvania Association of Realtors® has arguably the best grassroots machine in the Commonwealth. You are known for being strategic and powerful. With the Legislative Scorecard in your pocket, you’re armed with information that will give you even more insight into your elected official’s voting behavior and how they represent the Realtor® Party in Pennsylvania.
I encourage you to check out the Legislative Scorecard and see how your legislators stack up!
